I see you advertise your cleaning method as no harmful steam or shampoo. How, then, do you clean my carpets?
There are 2 ways to clean carpets. The most common is steam/extraction cleaning. This is the method I used when I started cleaning carpets in 1981. Water/solution is sprayed on your carpets at high pressure and a vacuum extracts the water/dirt back into a holding tank. Although there is nothing "wrong" with this method, it uses about 3 times the moisture I need to clean your carpets thoroughly. The other common method is bonnet cleaning. This is the method I've used since 1985. After spraying your carpets with my "magic" solution (non residue/non toxic), I actually massage and clean your carpets from the bottom up with a buffer and little white flat "mop heads", commonly called bonnets. The dirt and moisture is "extracted" from the carpet onto the pads. On average, I'll use 4-6 of these pads per room and approx. 1 gallon of solution. Your carpets are moist, but not so wet that you can't walk on them or place furniture back on the surface. I switched to this method after seeing a demonstration and being amazed at how well it works! The low moisture method allows me to clean even wool carpets. This is the only method recommended by ALL of the carpet manufacturers since it uses less moisture. For many years, in fact, I cleaned all the carpets at the El Torito Mexican Restaurants in the San Francisco bay area. All of their carpet was 100% wool and I'd clean them in the morning once a month and they'd open with no problem at 11:00 a.m.. I also got a free lunch out of the deal.
I've never heard of this method. Does it really work?
Absolutely it works! Chem Dry is one of the most popular franchises in the country and they have millions of fans. My method is very similar to their process.
Do you guys move furniture?
First of all, I am "you guys". As the owner/operator, you will schedule your appointment with me and I will show up on time to clean your carpets. I employ no crew. Being the owner/operator also has some advantages for me. I am the Employee Of The Month every month and I work for a great boss! And yes, I move your couches, end tables and chairs side to side and clean around the edges and place them right back where they started. There is no need for you to move into your garage for me to clean your carpets properly. I don't move beds or dressers or large book cases. I can clean with the machine close enough to the edges and I always do the tight edges by hand.
How long will it take for the carpets to dry?
Technically, your carpets are "dry" after I am finished. You can walk on them and put furniture back on them right away. However, complete dry time is 4-8 hours. If you don't walk on them, the "drying" time is less.

Is your method safe for children and pets?
Yes, I use a non-toxic, non-residue formula that I discoverd at a carpet cleaning convention (talk about some party animals!) in Chicago. The demonstation of this formula included the inventor drinking a small glass of the "brew". I don't recommend drinking it but let's just say it's safe for all living creatures, big and small.
Where is your van?
I get this question about once a week from my new clients. Not only is my cleaning method considered "green" and Earth friendly, my automobile is as well. I can get all of my equipment inside my Toyota Prius. Amazing what you can fit inside one of these!
Do you offer Scotchguard?
Yes, I offer carpet protection. Not specifically Scotchguard, which is a brand name, but a protection product similar to Scotchguard. It is not necessary to reapply the protection after every cleaning. Some carpet cleaners advise the add-on after every cleaning, but if you add it every other cleaning you will be fine. The advantage of having fresh carpet protection is not so much for liquid spills. The "Scotchguard" protection helps to prevent damage from excessive dry dirt and soil, which creates wear patterns on heavy traffic areas. With proper protection, you will get more dirt and dust when you vacuum your carpets. Without proper protection, more dirt will get to the bottom of the fibers and this is where your carpets wear out first. They wear out from the bottom up. I charge a minimum of 25.00 to add protection for 3 rooms and then 5.00 per room after that.
Do I need to leave when you're cleaning?
It is not necessary for you to leave when I am working in your home.
I see you charge by the room. What is the size limit?
There is no size limit. Some rooms are small, some are large. It all averages out and is the easiest way for me to give you a final estimate over the phone. I don't charge for hallways or closets or bathrooms. Stairs count as 1 room.
Are there any hidden charges for 'heavily soiled' areas?
There are no hidden charges. The price on my coupon and phone price quote is the total charge.
How long does it take for you to clean my carpets?
Almost like clockwork, it takes me about 20 minutes per room or set of stairs. A 3 room job takes about 1 hour, 5 rooms takes about 90 minutes and the 7 room house takes a little more than 2 hours. I normally schedule work at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. daily.
Do you work weekends or evenings?
Yes, I work with your schedule and mine to complete your job when you need it. On average, I can normally book your job within 2 days of your call. If necessary, I also offer same day service at no extra charge.
What is the fastest land animal?
I don't know what this has to do with carpet cleaning, but let me confirm what you probably learned in Jr. High School. The Cheetah is still considered the fastest, being clocked at speeds of 70 m.p.h..
Do you also clean upholstery?
Yes, I offer complete upholstery cleaning. All upholstery cleaning includes free "Scotchguard" protection. The average price is $85.00 for a sofa (coupon price), $65.00 for a chair and $75.00 for a loveseat.
Do you offer flood damage services?
For flood damage, you need an extraction service provider. I recommend a local Folsom business called Delight Cleaning for such services. The owner is Ray and his business number is 916.985.9695. They also provide tile/grout cleaning and full maid/cleaning services.
Do you offer carpet repair work?
I do not, but have worked for years with Larry from A-1 Carpet & Flooring. He's right here in Folsom and his number is 916.351.1203. He does everything from carpet patching and stretching to complete carpet and flooring installation.
What do I need to do to prep before you come over?
There is no need to move anything or do any "prep" work. Most people vacuum just prior to the cleaning but that is not necessary. I carry a vacuum cleaner with me and if necessary, I'll vacuum before I start the cleaning process. Sometimes, with homes with pets, I'll even vacuum after I've cleaned the carpets since pet hair can become tangled deep inside the fibers. This is a testament to my cleaning process in that it shows that even though you may vacuum on a regular basis, my deep cleaning process pulls dirt up from the bottom. This also shows how little moisture is left in your carpet when I am done. I can vacuum immediately after I've cleaned and raked your carpets.
